yahoo lottery inc winners; Is it true or is a trick?

Question by LooLo 😉: yahoo lottery inc winners; Is it true or is a trick?
I recieved an email from yahoo lottery inc that says:
This is to inform you that you have won a prize money of THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND US DOLLARS ($ 300,000.00) for the YEAR 2007 Yahoo Lottery promotion which is organized by YAHOO LOTTERY INC for the introduction of the new YAHOO BETA MAIL which all YAHOO users are required to switch onto.
YAHOO! & MICROSOFT WINDOWS, arrange and gather all the e-mail addresses of the people that are active online, among the millions that subscribed to Yahoo and Hotmail, and others we only select FIVE (5) candidates per annually as our winners through Electronic Balloting System (EBS) without the candidate applying, we congratulate you for being one of the people selected.

We have sent your Payment Approval File to Nigeria due to we have 3 lucky winners in Nigeria so that you can be cleared and paid simultaneously there. You are to contact our Nigeria Location Claim Agent on

Another Nigerian scam. Geez, this has been going on for years, and you just heard about it, or you just got an email telling you that you’ve won some unreal amount of money. LOL! Yahoo does not hold lotteries, or give away money.

This is a scam. Delete the email and forget about it. A lot of people lose money by getting involved with these emails, do not let it happen to you.

That particular scam is very likely older than you are!

William S apparently thinks you belong in the record books under “oldest person”. This scam is older than the record book.
