Am I being too superstitious? Am I being too negative with the law of attraction?

Question by AngelM: Am I being too superstitious? Am I being too negative with the law of attraction?
Am I having negative attraction (with the law of attraction)? Usually I am able to attract good opportunities towards me, jobs, contests, careers. They just pop up like the ‘Law of Attraction’ describes. But lately, I’m been looking for an apartment, and it seems like the law of attraction is against me.

I keep losing place after place, room after room. Either the place has something that I really dislike, or somebody took the place already. I’m looking for a room that is $ 600 to $ 700 / month and the average rent in that city is $ 650!

I seem to be having the worst luck (or “attraction”) for an apartment. Every time I’m about to open an email, I think to myself, “Oh, shoot, oh shoot, is it going to be another rejection?; its probably going to be another one of those ‘this place has already been taken’ ” Even though I keep sending out email after email. I want to be practical about this, not superstitious. And I want to be positive.
Thank you all for the answers. I think what I needed was a little slap in the face, & somebody telling me “snap out of that ridiculousness”

You are being too superstitious, yes.

The “law of attraction” is “the power of positive thinking” wrapped up in neurolinguistic programming. It’s not magic.

It’s what allows you to see the good in what is available to you.

Renting an apartment can be a stressful time. Good apartments aren’t going to just “pop out at you”.. you still have to do the legwork.

Just keep looking until you find the one that fits your criteria.

Drop the new age BS and you’ll be ok.

  3. That is simply untrue. says:

Landlords much prefer to see an applicant. if you are presentable, then you should make an appointment with apartment managers, and turn up looking well manicured, clean, and polished.

It is advisable not to take with you any of the following when seeking accommodation:

    1. A saxophone

    2. A trombone

    3. A piano accordion

    4. Any large breed of fierce dog.

Good fortune does not come regardless of how much you bid it fill your coffers. Most of the world’s successful people are go-getters.

    As Alf put it:

“The heights by great men reached and kept
Were not achieved in single flight:
But they, as their companions slept
Were toiling – upwards – through them night!”

    Ah, yes.

You seem to be turning this difficulty about finding an apartment into some sort of statement about yourself, or as some sort of proof against you as a person. The difficulties you are having are not your fault. They are simply matters of fact regarding the rental situation in the area(s) where you’re looking. Most likely, this is the wrong time of the year to find an apartment. Most rentals are gone by August 1, if not earlier, especially in towns with colleges and universities.

Don’t take it personally. Stop being superstitious. Find the facts and stop making this an indictment of yourself.

It’s not the law of attraction,it’s the law of averages. You have had such good luck for so long, sooner or later the law of average says you will not.Sorry!!
